Turkish Cycling Federation hosts bike cup and development camp in Konya
Around 200 cyclists took part in the Turkish Cycling Federation's Track Cycling Cup and Development Camp held at the Konya Olympic Velodrome. The three‑day event combined elite athletes preparing for the upcoming national championships with younger riders gaining race experience.
Sixty cyclists in the senior and junior categories used the competition to test race tempo ahead of the Turkey Track Cycling Championships scheduled for 28 July–1 August. In the development programme, 160 riders aged 12‑17 competed, while 22 athletes selected by the Youth and Sports Ministry's Athlete Education Centre also participated. Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu said the model creates a strong pipeline from grassroots to elite levels.
The camp featured athletes from several Turkish provinces and formed the second stage of the points‑based Track Cycling Cup, following the federation’s basic training program.
