Turkey Cycling Promotion Initiatives

In mid‑July 2026 the Turkish Cycling Federation held a national Track Cycling Cup and Development Camp at the Konya Olympic Velodrome. About 200 cyclists, including elite athletes preparing for the upcoming national championships and 160 junior riders, participated in a three‑day program designed to build a pipeline from grassroots to elite competition.

Later in the month, provincial youth and sports directorates organized community‑focused cycling tours in Kars and Eskişehir. The Kars event combined a 10‑km ride past historic sites with health‑promotion goals, while the Eskişehir activity paired cycling with a nature walk and a sky‑watch program, encouraging outdoor recreation and cultural awareness. Together, the events illustrate a coordinated effort by Turkish authorities to promote cycling at both elite development and mass‑participation levels.
