Turkish defense experts inspect UK facilities for Eurofighter Typhoon project

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense is advancing its Eurofighter Typhoon procurement project through strategic technical inspections and pilot training. A delegation of experts from the Air Force Command Aircraft Maintenance Working Group and the General Directorate of Military Factories visited the Royal Air Force Coningsby Air Base in the United Kingdom from September 15 to 17.

The visit focused on evaluating maintenance and sustainment processes, technical infrastructure compatibility, and logistics arrangements to ensure integration with the Eurofighter Typhoon. These inspections aim to align maintenance procedures with Turkish practices and establish a foundation for future joint operation and sustainment models.

In a related development, Turkish Air Force pilots have successfully completed terminology training and have transitioned to the critical phase of flight training. This follows a contract signed on October 27, 2025, for the procurement of 20 new-production Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, mission equipment, and various munitions, a project valued at approximately 5.4 billion British pounds.
