Turkish export associations honor top performers in leather and agriculture

Turkish export associations held award ceremonies to recognize high-performing companies in the leather and agricultural sectors.

The Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (İDMİB) honored 254 firms for their 2025 performance. İDMİB President Güven Karaca reported that the leather sector's export value per kilogram rose to over $16, significantly higher than Turkey's overall average of $1.5 per kilogram. The sector achieved over $1.1 billion in exports during the first nine months of 2026, narrowing previous losses to less than 1% compared to the prior year.

In the agricultural sector, the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association (AHBİB) held its 2025 Export Stars Award Ceremony. Mersin Governor Atilla Toros highlighted Mersin's role as a major trade hub, noting that Turkey's total exports in the cereals and pulses sector have exceeded $12.3 billion. AHBİB contributes significantly to this total with an export volume surpassing $1.9 billion.
