Turkish agricultural and export sector developments

Overview

Turkish export associations have been recognizing high-performing companies across various sectors. In the leather industry, the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (İDMİB) honored 254 firms, noting that the sector achieved over $1.1 billion in exports during the first nine months of 2026. The leather sector's export value per kilogram reached over $16, which is significantly higher than Turkey's overall average of $1.5 per kilogram.

In the agricultural and food sectors, the Mediterranean Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters' Association (AHBİB) reported that Turkey's total exports in cereals and pulses have exceeded $12.3 billion, with AHBİB contributing over $1.9 billion. Additionally, Altuntaş Baharat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. received second place in the non-wood forest products category at the 2025 Export Stars Award ceremony.

On a regional level, the Sarıkaya Milk Producers' Union in Yozgat has attained first-degree agricultural organization status. This designation is expected to provide producers with enhanced advantages, such as increased access to agricultural projects, lower interest rates on subsidized loans, and higher grant rates through TARSİM.
