Turkish fishing boat attacked off Crimea kills one and wounds four

A Turkish‑flagged fishing vessel, the Duru 67, was attacked in the Black Sea off the western coast of Crimea, near Sevastopol. The assault caused severe damage and the boat sank. Another Turkish boat, the Burak Kaya, rescued the five crew members from the water; one of the injured later died while being transferred toward the Turkish base at Incirlik.

The Turkish Coast Guard promptly dispatched the patrol vessel TCSG‑96, carrying four doctors and 19 medical staff, to the scene. The rescue operation concluded when the Coast Guard reached the Burak Kaya about 115 nautical miles north of the port of İnebolu, after which the deceased and the injured were taken aboard for medical treatment.
