Turkish Football Federation adopts 2026 World Cup rules for Super League
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and the Central Referee Committee (MHK) will implement the new match regulations introduced at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the upcoming Süper Lig season. The federation will retain the existing 10+4 foreign‑player quota and has ruled out any relaxation of that rule.
The new rules include a five‑second countdown for throw‑ins and goal kicks, a ten‑second limit for substitutions, penalties for delaying play, expanded VAR authority, and automatic red cards for players who cover their mouths. MHK will conduct an intensive training camp for referees from 24‑28 July, with UEFA educators participating, and clubs will receive seminars to ensure uniform application across all professional leagues.
