Turkish Football Federation refers 448 officials to disciplinary board over betting

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has launched a major disciplinary crackdown following an investigation into illegal betting. A total of 448 officials from Süper Lig and TFF 1. Lig clubs over the last five years have been referred to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK). The list of accused individuals includes high-profile figures such as Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, as well as numerous officials from Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, and Fenerbahçe.

Simultaneously, the PFDK has issued several heavy fines and bans related to match-day misconduct. Amedspor has been hit with a combined fine of approximately 2.5 million TL due to various infractions, including improper spectator entry, pitch incidents, and issues with the stadium irrigation system. Amedspor coach Besnik Hasi also received a one-match ban and a 100,000 TL fine for unsportsmanlike behavior toward a referee.

Other disciplinary actions include a one-match ban and a 100,000 TL fine for Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk for similar conduct during a match against Trabzonspor. Additionally, Batman Petrolspor was fined 240,000 TL for crowd-related incidents during their match against Bursaspor, resulting in electronic ticket blocks for several spectator sections.
