Turkish football disciplinary sanctions
Overview
Following a Beşiktaş victory over Fenerbahçe in the Trendyol Süper Lig, the Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu (TFF) referred several individuals and clubs to the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK). Referrals included Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım and player Kerem Aktürkoğlu for statements deemed to undermine the reputation of football, alongside Beşiktaş player Dusan Vlahovic for alleged insults. Both clubs also faced referrals regarding crowd behavior and pitch disturbances.
Beşiktaş criticized the referral of Vlahovic as “unacceptable,” alleging a lack of “justice and equality” in how provocations are addressed. Subsequent PFDK rulings handed Vlahovic a one-match ban and a 100,000 TL fine for unsportsmanlike conduct. Beşiktaş was also fined a total of 555,000 TL for field incidents, improper chanting, and stairwell violations. Beşiktaş further criticized journalist Tahir Kum for allegedly leaking disciplinary decisions before official announcements.
Fenerbahçe received a 280,000 TL fine for fan-related field incidents, while Kerem Aktürkoğlu was fined 500,000 TL for post-match interview comments. In other league actions, Galatasaray was fined 200,000 TL for “ugly and bad chanting,” resulting in electronic ticket blocks, and its staff were fined for entering unauthorized areas. Additionally, Başakşehir official Nuri Şahin received a one-match ban from the bench and a 100,000 TL fine for unsportsmanlike behavior toward a referee, while player Umut Dilan Bozok was handed a two-match ban for a serious foul.
Further disciplinary actions were issued against Kayserispor following a match against Karagümrük. The club was fined 140,000 TL, and President Ali Çamlı received fines totaling 175,000 TL. Additionally, player Benhur Keser was handed a two-match ban and a 50,000 TL fine for insulting opponents.
