Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Announces Wide‑Scale Ambassadorial Reassignments

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan disclosed a comprehensive reshuffle of Turkey's diplomatic corps. New ambassadors were named for Tehran, Reykjavik (Turkey’s first mission in Iceland), Muscat, Amman, Maputo, Ashgabat, Kuwait, the United Nations office in Geneva, and Skopje, among other posts. Additional assignments included senior diplomats to Bujumbura, Djibouti, Doha, The Hague, Gaborone, Hartum, Banjul, Helsinki, and several other capitals, with many deputies and special envoys also reassigned. The announcements cover dozens of individual postings, reflecting the Ministry’s ongoing effort to update its overseas representation.
