Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan heads to Paris for Ukraine coalition summit

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is traveling to Paris to attend the Volunteer Coalition Leaders Summit focused on Ukraine. The meeting will review support for Ukraine, discuss new defence capabilities and cooperation in the defence industry, and reiterate Turkey’s backing of Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Fidan is also expected to evaluate the outcomes of the recent NATO summit in Ankara, where President Volodymyr Zelenskyy participated, and to convey Turkey’s readiness to bring Russian and Ukrainian delegations back to the negotiating table. The summit, launched in March 2025 by the United Kingdom and France, brings together more than 30 mainly European nations.

Turkey’s participation underscores its role in the diplomatic effort to achieve a permanent and fair peace in the Russia‑Ukraine war and to maintain stability in the Black Sea region.
