Turkish gendarmerie raids seize drugs, fake alcohol in Muğla and arrest fugitive dealer in İzmir

The Muğla provincial gendarmerie continued its crackdown on narcotics and counterfeit alcohol, reporting that in June 113 drug incidents led to 118 arrests, 6 of whom were jailed. Seizures included 1,096 g of synthetic cannabinoid‑bonzai, 814 g of kush cannabis, 625 synthetic pills, 100 g of skunk, 11 cannabis‑seed packs and related paraphernalia, as well as 270 L of fake or smuggled alcohol, 107 kg of tobacco, 2,504 counterfeit perfumes and thousands of other illicit items, along with 13,240 TL in cash.

In a separate joint operation by the MIT and the gendarmerie in Urla, İzmir, authorities captured a convicted drug trafficker who had been planning to flee abroad. The suspect, serving a 25‑year sentence, was found with a clandestine production setup and 2 kg of cannabis. He was arrested with false identification, detained and transferred to judicial authorities for prosecution.
