Turkey's TMO pays 120 billion lira for grain as new milk center opens in Muş

Turkey’s Grain Board (TMO) has paid approximately 120 billion lira to grain producers since the start of the harvest season. Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı announced that 11.5 million tons of product have been purchased across 769 centers, reaching about 57.5% of the institution's 20-million-ton capacity. Yumaklı assured producers that all products brought to the TMO will be purchased, emphasizing the strategic importance of wheat and barley for food security and exports.

In Muş, a new milk collection center has opened in the Malazgirt district to support local livestock producers. Managed by the Malazgirt Chamber of Agriculture and supported by a 50% grant from the TKDK, the facility has a daily capacity of 30 tons. The center utilizes a cold chain system to ensure milk is preserved safely for market distribution. Muş Governor Avni Çakır noted that while the region has significant livestock potential, the new facility is a critical step in converting milk production into greater economic value for local farmers.
