Turkish local leaders launch tourism and export development plans

Bursa Nilüfer Mayor Şadi Özdemir presented a multi‑year tourism and rural‑development vision for the Nilüfer district, outlining projects such as a floating dock for boat trips between Fadıllı and Gölyazı, a digital‑infrastructure hub for remote‑working “digital nomads” in Ayvaköy, and new caravan and paragliding facilities. The plan also includes archaeological site upgrades, a 400‑seat open‑air theatre, and measures to protect agricultural land while boosting visitor stays.

Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz convened exporters, agricultural officials and business leaders to stress the importance of coordinated marketing for the province’s produce and to set ambitious tourism targets. He noted that hotel night counts rose from 454 000 in 2024 to a projected 654 000 in 2025, with a goal of making Malatya a stronger tourism destination by 2027. The meeting called for joint action among producers, exporters and public agencies to drive economic growth.
