Yeni Parti Prepares October 2026 Congress After Rapid Nationwide Organization and Mass CHP Defections FAST-MOVING
Yeni Parti announced that it will hold its first congress in October 2026 once it completes party structures in all 81 Turkish provinces. General Secretary Ensar Aytekin said the organization of il and ilçe branches would be finished in 60 cities by the week of 1 August 2026, with a special committee set up for the Eastern and Southeast Anatolia regions, and the remaining 21 provinces to follow shortly.
The party has attracted a wave of resignations from the Republican People’s Party (CHP). In Ardahan, roughly 90 % of local CHP organisations left the party and joined Yeni Parti. Six mayoral offices in Yalova also resigned from CHP and transferred to the new party. In Samsun, Atakum mayor Serhat Türkel and 39 CHP district leaders announced their departure for Yeni Parti. These defections give Yeni Parti a broad base across the country ahead of its inaugural congress.
