Turkish miners protest unpaid wages in Yozgat's Akdağmadeni district

Around 150 workers at a lead‑zinc mine owned by Yıldızlar Holding gathered in the main square of Akdağmadeni, Yozgat, Turkey, to demand payment of salaries withheld for four months. The protestors said they have been unable to cover essential expenses such as rent, natural‑gas bills and children’s allowances.

The miners cited a court ruling granting them compensation that still has not been paid, and they called on local authorities and the company to settle both the overdue wages and the outstanding severance payments immediately.
