Turkish Minister Murat Kurum distributes land titles in Beykoz, Istanbul

Environment, Urbanism and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum attended a land‑title distribution ceremony in Beykoz, Istanbul, where titles were handed to 1,071 property owners across 25 neighbourhoods. The event was part of an ongoing urban‑transformation program aimed at resolving land‑registry problems one by one.

Kurum emphasized that Istanbul’s primary challenge is earthquake preparedness, calling the effort a matter of national survival. He announced the completion of the first phase of the 300,000‑m² Beykoz Millet Bahçesi park, the renovation of the Beykoz Paşabahçe Stadium together with the Youth and Sports Ministry, and the handover of 25 parcels to the district municipality. The minister also noted the recent rollout of a deposit‑return system for beverage containers, citing the return of 7.6 million items within five days.

The minister urged residents to make use of government support schemes for urban renewal, including grants, low‑interest loans and relocation assistance, stressing that no Istanbul district would be left behind in the transformation drive.
