Turkish Ministers meet with 81 governors to discuss social services

Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi and Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş held a video conference meeting with governors from all 81 provinces to discuss social services and volunteerism.

A primary focus of the meeting was the 'Provincial and District Foundations Performance Report.' Minister Çiftçi instructed governors to closely monitor these reports to increase the efficiency of social assistance activities. He noted that high-performing foundations would eventually be integrated into an award mechanism. The Minister emphasized the state's responsibility to identify and meet citizens' needs proactively rather than waiting for them to seek help.

The meeting also addressed the 'İyilik Var' Volunteering Platform. Officials discussed strengthening volunteering mechanisms, improving coordination, and integrating the platform with local administrations to enhance social solidarity across the country.
