Turkish municipalities conduct food and price inspections
Municipal police in Turkey are conducting inspections to ensure food safety and fair pricing in various retail sectors. In the Meram district, authorities are focusing on school canteens and businesses surrounding educational institutions. These inspections aim to verify hygiene standards, product expiration dates, and price tags to protect student health.
Simultaneously, in the Şehzadeler district, municipal teams are auditing chain supermarkets. The inspections target discrepancies between shelf prices and register receipts, shelf organization, and general hygiene. Officials stated that while legal sanctions are applied to violators, the primary goal is to ensure a safe and reliable shopping environment for consumers.
