Turkish municipalities expand transport services in Balıkesir and Aydın provinces
The new Akçay‑Midilli sea‑bus line operated by BADO in Balıkesir has quickly attracted high demand, carrying up to 350 passengers per trip and selling more than 2,000 tickets within five days. The service, inaugurated by Mayor Ahmet Akın, offers a fast, fare‑free connection between the Turkish coast and the Greek island of Lesbos, boosting regional tourism and providing convenient customs processing.
In Aydın’s Incirliova district, Mayor Aytekin Kaya introduced two municipal vehicles—a shovel and a waste‑taxi—donated by Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu. The additions raise the district’s fleet to 23 service vehicles, enhancing waste collection and road‑maintenance capabilities for residents.
