Turkish municipalities increase pest control efforts

Municipalities in Turkey are intensifying pest control and insecticide spraying operations to combat the seasonal increase in insects and pests during the summer months.

In Didim, Mayor Hatice Gençay stated that teams are conducting regular spraying in common areas, sewers, green spaces, and around waste containers to protect public health and improve living standards. The program is designed to be periodic and systematic throughout the summer season.

In Kayseri, the Metropolitan Municipality has accelerated its spraying activities in green spaces, including parks, recreation areas, and the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Millet Bahçesi. To minimize chemical contact risks for citizens, many operations are scheduled at night between 23:00 and 07:00. These efforts target larvae and pests in trees, ornamental plants, and grass to maintain the city's green infrastructure.
