Turkey conducts food safety and hygiene inspections across multiple provinces

Authorities in several Turkish provinces have intensified food safety and hygiene inspections across various sectors to ensure public health.

In Çanakkale, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry conducted simultaneous inspections at 11 KYK student dormitories. Officials examined kitchens, dining halls, and storage areas, focusing on food storage conditions, cold chain maintenance, expiration dates, and the hygiene of both food preparation processes and staff.

In Bilecik, municipal teams inspected school canteens to verify operating licenses and food quality. The audits covered packaged goods and prepared items like toast, specifically checking meat quality and expiration dates. Inspections were conducted in accordance with Ministry of National Education and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry guidelines, with officials noting that certain snacks and carbonated drinks should be avoided in schools.

In Denizli, specifically in the Acıpayam district, agricultural directorate teams carried out nighttime inspections of bakeries. These late-hour audits were designed to monitor the bread production process directly, ensuring that hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations are strictly followed during the primary production hours.
