Turkish municipalities launch night‑time mosquito and pest control campaigns

Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi is conducting round‑the‑clock vector control across its 19 districts, using mist‑blower (mist blower) and ULV spraying equipment at night to target mosquitoes, black flies, cockroaches, fleas and rodents. The campaign intensified after spring rains and rising temperatures, with teams focusing on drainage systems, manholes and waste containers.

Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyesi similarly runs 24‑hour vector control throughout its 17 districts. In Akhisar, 25 vehicles and 35 staff are carrying out intensive spraying of parks, green areas, streets and wetlands, aiming at mosquitoes, black flies and other pests. The mayor emphasized that the effort is a core public‑health service.

Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi reports night‑time spraying in parks and recreation areas, having treated 4,210 points in May‑June using biologically‑friendly agents to curb mosquito and black‑fly activity.

In Zonguldak’s Karaelmas neighbourhood, residents complained of a severe fly and mosquito nuisance, describing evenings as “locked inside” and urging Mayor Tahsin Erdem to accelerate and expand spraying operations.
