Turkish municipalities keep child development centers open through summer

The Kuşadası Municipality’s Child Development Center, serving children aged 36‑60 months, will remain open for the summer term under Mayor Ömer Günel’s vision project. Manager Buket Uysal said the centre will continue providing a safe, educational and entertaining environment despite the national school break.

In Eskişehir’s Tepebaşı district, the municipality is preparing its Early Childhood Education Centers for the 2025‑2026 school year. The centres, which will serve 183 children, will select participants by a public lottery on 12 June. Mayor Ahmet Ataç highlighted the programme as a social‑municipal model that guarantees equal access to quality early education.

Both initiatives illustrate local governments’ efforts to maintain continuous early‑childhood services and support families throughout the summer.
