Turkish municipalities launch women‑focused community centers in Tekirdağ and Kahta

The Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality continued its "Women‑Friendly Cities" project by holding Women’s Neighborhood Meetings in the districts of Marmaraereğlisi, Saray, Hayrabolu and Şarköy. Psychologist Rümeysa Güngör and sociologist Selinay Demirhanöz listened to residents’ concerns and suggestions, aiming to incorporate them into the local Equality Action Plan and strengthen participatory governance.

In Kahta, the municipal mayor Mehmet Can Hallaç inspected the construction of a dedicated Women’s Life and Swimming Center in the Turgut Özal neighbourhood. The facility will include a semi‑Olympic pool, sauna, spa, cafeteria, children’s play area and prayer room, providing a modern venue for women’s sports, social activities and family gatherings once completed.
