Turkey municipal women’s community centers

Overview

In late July 2026, the Bodrum municipality began building the Çırkan Community Center, a solar‑powered hub that includes a library, workspaces and a municipal bakery. At the same time, the Haliliye district launched a women’s education and vocational program offering handicraft, literacy and childcare services.

By early August, the initiative expanded to other regions. Tekirdağ’s metropolitan authority continued its “Women‑Friendly Cities” project with neighborhood meetings to feed into an Equality Action Plan, while Kahta’s mayor inspected the construction of a dedicated Women’s Life and Swimming Center featuring a semi‑Olympic pool, spa, cafeteria and family areas.

The snapshots show a coordinated effort by Turkish local governments to develop women‑focused community facilities and training programs across multiple municipalities.
