Turkey celebrates 103rd Republic Day with regional events

Various cities across Turkey held diverse events to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of Republic Day.

In Bursa, the 'Metropolitan Republic Run' saw approximately 4,000 participants complete a 5-kilometer course from Çekirge to the historic Hanlar Region. The festivities included art exhibitions, concerts, and the distribution of Atatürk posters and Turkish flags.

Denizli hosted the 2nd Lykos Half Marathon, a record-breaking international event attracting nearly 20,000 people, including 10,000 registered athletes from 26 countries and 60 Turkish cities. The race took place near the Pamukkale travertines and Hierapolis Ancient City, with total prize money amounting to 1.51 million lira.

Other regional celebrations included tree-planting activities and flag marches in Sumbas, Osmaniye, and a multi-day program in Efes Selçuk featuring memorial services, conferences, and lantern processions.
