After severe flooding in Turhal, the local council began round‑the‑clock pest‑control operations, deploying seven vehicles—four of them electric—to spray insecticide over roughly 63,000 hectares and prevent a surge of flies and larvae. In Konya’s Meram district, rising summer temperatures prompted intensified cleaning and disinfection of waste containers, using pressure‑wash equipment and eco‑friendly detergents to curb odors, bacteria and insect breeding. Istanbul’s health department published an official guide listing 95 approved swimming spots, with regular water‑quality checks and lifeguard services to ensure safe beach use. Together, these initiatives illustrate coordinated municipal efforts to improve sanitation, reduce health risks and promote cleaner public environments across Turkey.
