Turkish municipalities roll out service upgrades in Kocaeli and Düzce

The Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is converting the multi‑storey parking structure in Dilovası’s Cumhuriyet neighbourhood into a new Dilovası Service Building. Renovation work includes installing elevators, exterior sealants, electrical piping, suspended ceiling supports and steel partition walls, aiming to house all district municipal units under one roof and improve citizen access to services.

In Düzce, the municipality expanded its online Cemetery Information System (MEBİS) with a "Şehitlerimiz" (Our Martyrs) section. The addition lets users search for graves, view biographical details and locate memorials of fallen soldiers via computer, Android or iOS devices, reinforcing digital access to burial records and honoring national heroes.

Both projects reflect local governments’ efforts to modernise public‑service infrastructure—one through a physical service centre, the other via a digital portal.
