Turkish municipalities showcase smart city projects in Seoul

Turkish municipalities Konak and Antalya presented their smart city initiatives at the Smart Life Week 2026 event held in Seoul, South Korea. The forum, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO), focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and urban technology.

Konak Municipality Mayor Nilüfer Çınarlı Mutlu showcased projects including a City Digital Twin and AI-supported applications designed to combat urban heat islands and energy loss. Additionally, representatives met with SH Corporation to discuss urban transformation and social housing models.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir presented the city's digital advancements, including SCADA-based smart water management, AI-powered smart intersection systems, digital agriculture, and early warning systems for climate risks. The event aimed to foster international cooperation in using technology to improve citizen quality of life and address climate change.
