Turkish municipalities upgrade roads and transport infrastructure
Mayor Doç. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu of Kayseri’s Melikgazi district said that a 1.5‑kilometre, 12‑metre‑wide road on İpekten Street is being resurfaced, with new curbs, a social centre next to Osmanlı Mosque, a library and other community facilities slated for opening.
In Bursa’s Karacabey district, the municipality has launched a 180‑day road‑renovation programme that includes nine technical items such as pavement, drainage and signalling, with the tender to be awarded in July 2026.
Malatya’s Akçadağ district is seeing rural road modernisation: stabilised foundations on a 4‑km stretch in Doğu Mahallesi, full renewal of a 6‑km village road, and additional upgrades on several shorter routes, all aimed at improving safety and comfort.
Konya’s tram‑line project between the stadium and the city hospital is progressing, with a 124‑metre reinforced‑concrete over‑pass under construction to keep traffic flowing while the tram runs above.
In Kocaeli’s Çayırova, the Uğur Mumcu Avenue overhaul has placed over 2,700 tonnes of asphalt, installed decorative lighting, and replaced water, sewer and fiber‑optic lines as part of a broader streetscape renewal.
