Turkish Municipalities Upgrade Urban Roads in Denizli and Antalya
The Denizli Metropolitan Municipality completed a comprehensive road‑renewal project on the Gürlek‑TOKİ corridor. The works included laying 2,500 tons of hot asphalt, adding 6,500 tons of cement‑stabilised base, constructing 3‑metre wide sidewalks, installing 4,500 m² of paving stones, and building a 280‑metre retaining wall to improve safety and durability.
In Antalya, the Metropolitan Municipality’s Fen İşleri (Public Works) department carried out traffic‑relief upgrades at several busy junctions, such as the İller Bankası, Dumlupınar and Akdeniz University intersections. Measures comprised widening the Gazi Boulevard bridge from two to three lanes, adding an extra merging and diverging lane to create a four‑lane crossing, widening Dumlupınar Boulevard, resurfacing asphalt, improving sidewalks and installing motor‑bike‑friendly barriers, all aimed at smoothing traffic flow and enhancing safety.
