Turkish officials advocate for increased agricultural producer support

Turkish political figures and local officials are emphasizing the need for increased support for agricultural producers during recent industry events. At the TÜYAP FOODIST Fair in Istanbul, AK Party Group Deputy Chairman and Manisa Deputy Bahadır Yenişehirlioğlu met with Manisa producers to discuss the city's agricultural potential, particularly in olives and olive oil. Yenişehirlioğlu stated a commitment to increasing the international competitiveness of local exporters by removing bureaucratic and logistical obstacles.

In Sivas, AK Party Provincial Chairman Mehmet Zahit Tokgöz highlighted the economic challenges facing farmers, including rising costs for fuel, fertilizer, feed, seeds, electricity, and labor. Tokgöz argued that Sivas should transition from merely hosting agricultural fairs to becoming a major production hub for Turkey. He advocated for policies that ensure producers receive fair compensation for their labor to prevent the migration of youth away from rural areas.
