Producer Ertuğrul Özcan noted that wholesale olive oil prices have dropped from the 300–350 TL range last year to 200–250 TL this year, questioning why these lower producer prices are not reflected in supermarket retail costs. Local officials warn that this instability threatens long-term production capacity by preventing farmers from purchasing supplies for future seasons.
