Turkey targets $450 billion in exports by 2029
Turkey is implementing several economic and diplomatic initiatives. At the 21st MÜSİAD EXPO in Istanbul, officials highlighted the country's production capacity and the goal of reaching 450 billion dollars in total goods and services exports by 2029.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced a 250 billion lira financing package to support capacity increases and noted that the Turkish economy has achieved 24 consecutive quarters of growth. He emphasized that despite global geopolitical tensions, Turkey's national income has surpassed 1.7 trillion dollars as of the first half of 2026.
In diplomatic spheres, Burhanettin Duran, Head of Communications for the Presidency, discussed the upcoming 100th anniversary of Turkey-US relations, noting potential cooperation in defense, energy, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, Vice President Yılmaz met with ambassadors from the EU, Japan, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan to discuss bilateral trade, energy, and regional stability.
