Turkish officials push road upgrades in Hakkari and Kütahya

Hakkari businessman and artisan association leader Muharrem Tekin welcomed the removal of three control points on the Şemdinli–Yüksekova road but said the route still needs widening, modernization and safety upgrades. He warned that heavy‑tonnage traffic and growing tourism are causing accidents on the narrow road and urged faster investment, stating, "Ulaşımı zorlaştıran engellerin azaltılması gerekiyor."

In Kütahya, AK Party MP Mehmet Demir met with road‑authority officials and local leaders in Tavşanlı to review a slate of transport projects. Planned works include a junction redesign in Ömerbey, new access routes to a KYK dormitory, and signalisation at the Derecik and Tepecik intersections on the Emet road, all aimed at improving safety and modernising the district’s road network.
