Turkish organizations launch blood donation awareness campaigns

Various initiatives are underway in Turkey to promote blood donation in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent.

In the Canik district of Samsun, the Canik Municipality has launched the “Give Blood, Save a Life; Kindness is in Our Blood” campaign. To encourage regular donations, citizens who present their blood donation confirmation SMS at the Meşe Kafe within the Meşe Facilities can receive free dessert and coffee. This program is scheduled to continue until November 4, 2026. Mayor İbrahim Sandıkçı stated that the municipality aims to increase awareness and develop a culture of regular blood donation through various activities throughout the year.

In Nevşehir, the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Anatolian Imam Hatip High School is hosting a blood donation event in partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent. Held in the school courtyard, the campaign utilizes a mobile blood donation vehicle to collect donations. The initiative seeks to foster social solidarity and raise awareness among students and the local community regarding the vital importance of voluntary blood donation for medical treatments and emergency interventions.
