Turkish police departments announce major leadership reshuffles
Turkish law enforcement agencies have announced significant personnel changes. In Tarsus, Bayram Barış Altındal has officially assumed the role of District Police Chief, succeeding Berat Günçiçek following a formal handover ceremony. Altındal, who previously served as the Deputy Provincial Police Chief for Mersin Registration, is expected to continue existing security measures, including anti-drug and anti-smuggling operations.
In Istanbul, the Istanbul Police Department has implemented its annual internal appointments. The reshuffle includes the assignment of 27 branch and district police chiefs. This includes changes in 18 district police directorates, such as Adalar, Çatalca, Arnavutköy, Ataşehir, and Beyoğlu, as well as several specialized branches including the Sabiha Gökçen Airport Branch and the Interpol/Europol Branch.
