Turkish police detain six suspects in Urla drug raid, seize narcotics in Istanbul

Police teams in Turkey carried out simultaneous drug‑related operations in two locations. In Urla, Izmir Province, authorities raided eight residences, three workplaces and two vehicles, arresting six suspects who were later ordered to be held in prison. The operation also captured a fugitive with a finalised jail sentence and a convicted robber, and seized a precision balance used in drug trade.

In Istanbul's Bahçelievler district, the Narcotics Department arrested Yaser Koçak, known from the TV show "Yetenek Sizsiniz," after finding 619 g of narcotics hidden in cat litter and two precision balances during a house search. Koçak was taken into custody and sentenced to prison pending trial. Both raids were conducted as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and related crimes.
