Turkish police raids seize drugs, gambling equipment and detain migrants in multiple cities

Police operations across Turkey targeted illegal gambling venues, drug trafficking networks and migrant smuggling. In Ankara, four gambling halls were raided, resulting in 11 arrests and the seizure of a unlicensed firearm, fifteen gold coins, cash, US$5,000, a radio, and extensive gambling paraphernalia.

In Bursa’s Orhangazi district, a helicopter‑supported raid on 45 addresses led to the detention of 52 suspects linked to a drug‑distribution ring that supplied young people; weapons and large quantities of narcotics were recovered. A coordinated operation centered in Istanbul and extending to three other provinces captured 95 suspects and seized dozens of packages of marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy, LSD and an unlicensed firearm.

In Tekirdağ, a week‑long crackdown involved 124 separate actions, resulting in 124 people processed and 19 drug dealers sentenced to prison, while large caches of various illicit substances and cash were confiscated.

Separately, Sivas police conducted two raids that intercepted eight irregular migrants and led to the arrest and imprisonment of three individuals involved in human‑smuggling. These nationwide actions illustrate a broad law‑enforcement push against organized crime and illegal migration.
