Turkey police detain 79 suspects in large‑scale drug bust across five provinces

Turkish law‑enforcement agencies coordinated a massive operation against narcotics traffickers in Bursa and Orhangazi, with simultaneous raids in Istanbul, Yalova, Kütahya and Eskişehir. The operation involved 800 personnel, including three UAVs, a helicopter, special‑operations teams and detection dogs.

A total of 102 suspects were taken into custody; 79 were later ordered to be jailed while the remaining 23 were released under judicial control. Searches uncovered 3 kg 234 g of methamphetamine, 1 kg 45 g of cannabis, 1 kg of cocaine, 605 g of synthetic cannabinoid and assorted amounts of heroin, ecstasy tablets and other synthetic stimulants. Authorities also seized precision scales, glass apparatus used for drug consumption, rifles and ammunition used by the trafficking network.

Officials said the crackdown demonstrates a continued commitment to combatting drug trade and protecting public health.
