Turkish police seize tens of thousands of liters of illegal alcohol and ready‑made explosives in nationwide raids

Turkey's law‑enforcement agencies carried out two major raids in July. In Düzce, the Bursa Provincial Gendarmerie dismantled a cosmetic‑cleaning business that was producing illicit alcoholic beverages. Officers seized 44,150 liters of ethyl alcohol, thousands of caps, labels, packaging crates, plastic tanks and processing equipment, and detained four suspects for illegal alcohol production and distribution.

In the nearby district of Kozan, police conducting the "Kozan’a Güven" security sweep stopped a vehicle and uncovered four ready‑to‑use explosive devices, 28.75 g of narcotics and 52 stimulant items, and arrested a suspect on charges of unlawful possession of dangerous materials. Additional arrests included a prison escapee and a person sought for assault, as well as numerous traffic and licensing violations.
