Turkish political polls show varying results for parties and presidential candidates
Recent polling data in Turkey has revealed divergent results regarding party preferences and potential presidential candidates. An ORC Research survey conducted across 26 provinces indicates the AKP leads with 34.9% of the vote, followed by the YENİ Party at 18.2%. In this same survey, the CHP received 9.2%, the MHP received 8.9%, and the DEM Party received 8.6%.
A separate study by ANK-AR Research and Consultancy focused on a potential presidential matchup between Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The poll found Yavaş leading with 43.7% support compared to Erdoğan's 36.6%. The study noted significant demographic splits, such as 95.7% of Zafer Party voters preferring Yavaş, while 95.1% of AKP voters support Erdoğan.
These findings emerge amid ongoing debates regarding early elections. Former leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has questioned the justification for an early election, citing economic instability and social issues.
