Turkish Red Crescent assumes leadership of Turkic Red Network

The Turkish Red Crescent has officially taken over the presidency of the Turkic Red Crescent and Red Cross Network (TRN) from the Azerbaijan Red Crescent. The transition was formalized during a Presidents Council meeting held at the Turkish Red Crescent's North Ankara Campus.

Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meriç Yılmaz stated that the network will focus on two primary pillars for the upcoming year of coordination: capacity sharing and joint activities in disaster management and social aid, as well as fostering cooperation among youth. The initiative aims to build a shared future by connecting young volunteers across the member nations.

The TRN presidency has previously been held by the Kyrgyzstan Red Crescent and the Azerbaijan Red Crescent. Under the new leadership based in Ankara, the network seeks to strengthen solidarity and humanitarian cooperation among the Turkic states.
