Turkish Red Crescent conducts aid and blood donation drives

The Turkish Red Crescent (Türk Kızılay) is conducting various social assistance and blood donation initiatives across different regions in Turkey.

In the Kozlu district of Zonguldak, the local Red Crescent branch is delivering aid to families in need by visiting neighborhoods and villages. Under the leadership of Branch President Nihat Özgür Kuru, the organization emphasizes protecting the dignity and privacy of recipients by prohibiting the sharing of photos or videos of aid deliveries on social media. The branch works closely with local mukhtars and administrative officials to identify those in need.

In Elazığ, Medilines Hospital partnered with the Turkish Red Crescent to host a blood donation event as part of Red Crescent Week. The campaign, held at the hospital, aimed to support local blood stocks for emergencies, surgeries, and oncology treatments. Dr. Veysel Yüzgeç, Chief Physician of Medilines Hospital, and Dr. Natig Shukurullayev, Director of the Elazığ Blood Donation Center, both emphasized the vital importance of voluntary donations to save lives.
