Turkish Red Crescent Opens Hacı Nail Taşkın Blood Center in Bafra

On 20 June 2026 the Turkish Red Crescent’s Bafra branch inaugurated the Hacı Nail Taşkın Blood Donation Center. The facility was built with the support of local businessmen Nazif and Sadık Taşkın, who funded the project in memory of their father, Hacı Nail Taşkın.

The opening ceremony, held in the garden of Bafra Youth Centre, was attended by Bafra District Governor Mustafa Altınpınar, AK Party MP Orhan Kırcalı, Bafra Mayor Hamit Kılıç, and provincial Red Crescent head Onur Çoban. Branch President Şerafettin Şahin emphasized that blood cannot be synthetically produced and highlighted the centre’s role as a vital bridge between voluntary donors and patients in need, providing a continuous supply for hospitals and emergency care.
