Turkish Red Crescent opens new soup kitchen in Bitlis
The Turkish Red Crescent has officially opened a new soup kitchen in Bitlis as part of its ‘81 Provinces 81 Soup Kitchens’ project. Located on Selami Yurdan Street in the Atatürk neighborhood, the facility was established with contributions from the Eren family.
The facility aims to provide hot meals to 1,100 people in need every day. During the opening ceremony, Bitlis Deputy Governor Tarık Safa Kahveci highlighted the importance of solidarity and altruism, noting that the new building and soup kitchen serve as practical examples of these values.
Kahveci also remarked on Turkey’s broader humanitarian efforts, stating that the nation provides hope to those in need across various regions, including Somalia, Libya, the Caucasus, Bosnia, Azerbaijan, and Myanmar. He noted that humanitarian aid remains a vital component of the investments being made under the ‘Century of Türkiye’ vision.
