Turkish schools launch theatre and beach projects to teach children water conservation and coastal cleanliness

Students at Ayşe Kırali Middle School in Sürmene, Trabzon, staged a play titled “Blue Museum Legend: Water Migrations 2100” to educate peers about efficient water use and future water scarcity. Teacher Nuran Ülker explained, “We want children to see how water scarcity will look in 2100.” The production, built with recycled materials, aims to embed conservation habits through hands‑on experience.

In Antalya, the Muratpaşa Municipality partnered with Miracle Resort Hotel to bring preschoolers from Cengiz Topel Kindergarten to a “Blue Flag” technical tour. The children learned the criteria for a beach to earn the Blue Flag, practiced waste separation, and received safety instruction on lifeguard flags. Both initiatives are part of municipal programs to foster early environmental awareness in Turkey’s younger generations.
