Turkish Specialist Sergeant Mert Dayanç dies in Kocaeli

Mert Dayanç, a specialist sergeant serving with the 23rd Commando Brigade Command in Istanbul, has passed away while on leave in the İzmit district of Kocaeli.

Dayanç, who was originally from the Davutlu village in the Ağaçören district of Aksaray, died unexpectedly. While there is significant public interest regarding the cause of death, official authorities have not yet released a definitive reason, such as whether it was due to an accident or a sudden medical condition. Forensic examinations and administrative investigations are expected to clarify the circumstances.

His remains are scheduled to be transported via Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport to Aksaray. A funeral service, including a military ceremony, will be held following the afternoon prayer at the Somuncu Baba Complex.
