Recent reports have documented the deaths of two Turkish military members under different circumstances.
On October 14, Infantry Specialist Sergeant Mustafa Aslan died following a weapon accident while serving at the Sita Base Area in the Pençe-Kilit operation zone. After being airlifted to Hakkari State Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. His funeral was held in Gaziantep with attendance from local officials and military commanders.
On October 28, Specialist Sergeant Mert Dayanç, serving with the 23rd Commando Brigade Command in Istanbul, passed away unexpectedly while on leave in the İzmit district of Kocaeli. Authorities have not yet released a definitive cause of death, and investigations are expected to clarify whether the incident was due to an accident or a medical condition.
